FP8 Security settings

General

Is it me, or do the security settings at the following url just not persist with the FP8 beta?
Clicky.
I'm trying to get the Flash Comm server administration panel to run and failing miserably because FP8 won't let it connect.

Are the settings just not updated yet because it is a beta?

This may be happening due to changes in how shared objects are stored. From FP6 to FP7, the security model went from "fuzzy domain" to "exact domain". Another change was to obfuscate the directory where SO's are stored to prevent security attacks. These changes resulted in multiple locations where an SO might legitimately be located, and due to some chain of events, one copy of the SO may be obscuring the other.

    Try renaming the following directory:

    C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Macromedia\FlashPlayer\#SharedObjects\macromedia.com\support

Rename it to something like “support___” and refresh the page.

At Macromedia, we have heard a few other reports of this problem (if this is indeed your problem) but we are still trying to understand it fully and determine how widespread it is.

    This worked, thanks :)

The new box in the settings manager that tells you which app last tried to connect is also a great idea!
